Zhuohan Sun, tenor

The Chinese tenor Zhuohan Sun is often praised for his a unique vocal timbre, brilliant technique and power of expression. He has a personal inclination towards the Art Song but is equally comfortable in the genres of concert and oratorio, having recently performed Das Lied von der Erde, The Dream of Gerontius and Beethoven's "Symphony 9". He began his studies at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and is currently studying with Mitsuko Shirai at the Karlsruhe Music University in Germany. He has won numerous prizes at competitions, including the International Summer Academy Mozarteum 2018, the International Robert Schumann Competition Zwickau 2021 and the 13th International Art Song Competition Stuttgart. Moreover, Zhuohan is a laureate of the Heidelberger Frühling Song Academy and the International Seiji Ozawa Academy.
