Matthias Goerne is regularly invited to the most important festivals and concert halls of the world, as the Wigmore Hall in London or the Carnegie Hall in New York. In his important career as an interpreter of lied he has been accompanied by pianists as Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Leif Ove Andsnes, Alfred Brendel, Christoph Eschenbach, Elisabeth Leonskaja or Alexander Schmalcz. Since making his debut as an opera singer at the Salzburg Festival in 1997 as Papageno (The magic flute), he has been invited to perform in the ROH of London, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Semper Opera House in Dresden, the Metropolitan Opera House in New York or the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. He has performed, among others the Wagnerian roles of Wolfram (Tannhäuser), Kurwenal (Tristan und Isolde) and the protagonists Lear of Aribert Reimann or Wozzeck of Alban Berg.

Alexander Schmalcz received his first piano lessons as a chorister in Dresden Kreuzchor; studied at the Conservatory of Dresden and Utrecht and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He has won numerous awards, including the contest Nederlands Impressariat 1995 (together with his piano trio) the Gerald Moore Award and the award of companion Megan Foster in 1996. He acts regularly in the most important concert halls as the Wigmore Hall in London, the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Royal Opera House in London or the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. He works regularly with singers like Matthias Goerne, Peter Schreier, Daughters Grace, Konrad Jarnot or Stephan Loges. His companions of chamber music include the Petersen Quartet and the cellist Keys Reichardt. He is a professor at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Dusseldorf from 1999.

Winner of three Victoires de la Musique awards (including Opera Singer of the Year in 2021), and the second prize at Operalia, her repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music with a focus on Mozart and Bel Canto heroines. Operatic highlights include Marie in La fille du régiment at the Wiener Staatsoper, Leïla in Les pêcheurs de perles at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Giunia in Lucio Silla at Teatro Real Madrid, Musetta in La bohème at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Nannetta in Falstaff at Opéra national de Paris, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Her discography also includes a recording of early songs by Mahler and Debussy with Alphonse Cemin, a disc of Songs for Piano and Voice by Poulenc.

Heide is one of the most sought-after piano accompanists and chamber musicians of his generation, performing throughout Europe and Asia since his graduation from Franz-Liszt-Hochschule in Weimar. He regularly works with singers such as Andrè Schuen, Christoph Prégardien, and Roman Trekel. He has also played with Marie Seidler, Hanno Müller-Brachmann, Luca Pisaroni, Ruth Ziesak, Katharina Konradi and Konstantin Krimmel. In the field of chamber music, he has performed concerts with soloists such as Tabea Zimmermann, Antje Weithaas, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Jens Peter Maintz, Friedemann Eichhorn, Barbara Buntrock, Julian Steckel, and Konstanze von Gutzeit. His CD Poêmes, recorded with mezzo-soprano Stella Doufexis, performing songs by Claude Debussy, received the German Record Critics' Award in 2013, while his CD with Andrè Schuen performing lieder by Robert Schumann, Hugo Wolf, and Frank Martin was awarded the ECHO Klassik 2016 prize in the Best Newcomer category.

Formed in 2019, the Atenea Quartet was born aiming to explore and bring alive the vast and fantastic world of the repertoire for string quartet. It has received training mainly from members of the Cuarteto Casals and also from musicians such as Heinz Holliger, Heime Müller and Donald Weilerstein. Nowadays, the quartet is continuing his musical development in the Hochschule für Musik Basel. In October 2020, they opened the 16th Festival de Musique de Wissembourg (France); in Summer 2021 the Quartet performed in the Auditorium Lo Squero (Venice) and took part in the DeltaChamber Music Festival and Pòdium Matadepera Festival (Catalonia). They have also played in venues such as the Fundación Juan March (Madrid) or the Teatro Calderón in Valladolid.
