Born in 1988 in Munich, he studied singing at the city’s Hochschule für Musik und Theater and Bayerischen Theaterakademie August Everding and completed his training with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Brigitte Fassbaender, Hedwig Fassbender, and Ann Murray. In 2014 he won first prize, alongside pianist Jonathan Ware, in the Internationale Hugo-Wolf-Akademie lied competition in Stuttgart, as well as the special prize for best interpretation at the Felix-Mendelssohn-Bartholdy competition at Universität der Künste Berlin; in 2015, he was awarded the Bayerischen Kunstförderpreis in the performing arts category. He has sung lied recitals at Wigmore Hall, the Kölner Philharmonie, Wiener Konzerthaus, the Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven, and the Kissinger Sommer Festival. He was part of Frankfurt Oper’s Opera Studio from 2015 to 2017, and joined the Staatstheater in Nuremberg in the 2017/18 season.
