El cicle de cançons Viatge d'hivern de Franz Schubert és una de les obres indelebles del repertori de la música d'Occident. La història del caminant que plora el seu desamor, la seva abstracció, la seva esperança i la seva solitud ens continuen commovent en l'actualitat, sobretot quan els intèrprets s'acosten al cicle amb devoció i humilitat. És el cas del tenor austríac Ilker Arcayürek, que ha interpretat l'obra en nombroses ocasions, i compta amb l'expert Ammiel Bushakevitz com a confident al piano, la labor d'acompanyament del qual resulta tan decisiu com la del mateix cantant.

Ilker Arkayürek

Born in Istanbul and raised in Vienna, he has emerged as one of the most exciting and versatile vocal artists in recent years. Ilker has been a member of the studio of Zürich Opera (2009-2013), and a member of the ensemble of the Stadttheater Klagenfurt (2013-2015) and Staatstheater Nürnberg (2015-18). Recent successes include his Canadian Opera Company debut as Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Ferrando (Così fan tutte) with Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, and the role of Alfred (Die Fledermaus) at Musikverein Graz. Often described as having the gift of storytelling, Ilker is a passionate exponent of Lied. He has presented programmes at Edinburgh International Festival, Wigmore Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Schubertiade, Oper Frankfurt, Schubertíada Vilabertran, Life Victoria Barcelona, Hugo Wolf Academy Stuttgart or the Park Avenue Armory in New York, among other venues.

Ammiel Bushakevitz

Born in Jerusalem, he began playing piano at the age of four. Developing an early love for the art song, Ammiel is internationally recognised as a leading song pianist of his generation and performs regularly at notable venues across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Australia. After initial studies in South Africa, where he raised, he furthered his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig and at the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieur de Musique in Paris. Ammiel is a prize-winner at numerous competitions, including the Wigmore Hall Competition in London or the International Schubert Competition in Stuttgart. One of the last private students of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, he mentors regularly at Thomas Hampson’s Heidelberg Lied Academy. In addition to his activities as a pianist, Ammiel is also active as a musicologist and specializes in research on Schubert and Wagner.
