Què ens hi trobarem?
Després de la interpretació fa dos anys de les sis sonates i partites per a violí de Johann Sebastian Bach a càrrec de sis violinistes, aquest estiu les protagonistes seran les sis Suites per a violoncel del compositor. Set violoncel·listes s'aplegaran per interpretar les obres de Bach i la Suite no. 1 de Britten, que s'inspira i homenatja les obres més importants per a aquest instrument del repertori.

Laia Puig
Laia Puig

Nascuda a Cervera (Lleida), inicia els seus estudis musicals als sis anys en el Conservatori de Cervera. Posteriorment estudia en les Universitats de Graz, Basilea i Berlín. En 2012 finalitza el Màster de Gestió Cultural en la UOC. Ha participat com a solista amb l'Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, l'Orquestra Simfònica Julià Carbonell, o la Camerata Musica de Viena. És membre de la Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Catalunya, violoncel principal de la JONDE, la European Union Youth Orchestra i la Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. Col·labora regularment amb l'OBC, l'orquestra del Gran Teatre del Liceu, la Konzerthaus Orchester de Berlín o la Simfonieorchester de Basilea, i ha treballat amb directors com Claudio Abbado, Carlo Maria Giulini, Sir Colin Davis, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Bernhard Haitink, Sir Neville Marriner o Pierre Boulez.

Mariona Camats
Mariona Camats

Born in la Garriga (Barcelona) in 1997, she started playing the cello at six years. She continued her studies at Leopold Mozart Zentrum from Augsburg University. She was artist-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo and is currently studying at Stauffer Center for Strings in Cremona. She has performed in festivals and concert halls such as Festival Pablo Casals 2017 in Prades, Supercello Festival 2018 in Beijing, L'Auditori an the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, or the Fundación Juan March in Madrid. As a soloist, she has performed with the Orquestra Camera Musicae, the Bruckner Akademie Orchester, or the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès. She has been awarded in several competitions, among them the Pablo Casals International Award (2016) and El Primer Palau (2020). Until 2018, she played a cello made by Marc Laberte (1921) which belonged to Pau Casals. She is currently playing a cello made by luthier David Bagué in 2019.

Oriol Prat
Oriol Prat

Oriol Prat Sabater finished his Master at the Stuttgarter Musikhochschule with Claudio Bohórquez. In 2013, he started as a cellist in the Cosmos Quartet, and he worked with Lluís Claret. In 2012, he finished the superior studies at the ESMuC (High School Music of Catalonia) with Damian Martínez, and he received chamber music lessons with the Casals Quartet and Kennedy Moretti. In 2005, he won the first prize in l'Arjau Competition in Barcelona and the same year he started playing at the JONC (Youth Orchestra of Catalonia), and in 2013 at the JONDE (Youth Orchestra of Spain).

Arnau Tomàs
Arnau Tomàs

Born in Barcelona, he is nowadays recognized as one of the most versatile cellists of his generation, combining solistic projects with an intense chamber music activity, being the founder of the Cuarteto Casals and the Ludwig Trio. He is regularly invited in the most important festivals and concert cycles and played as a solist with the Radiotelevisión Española, Sinfónica de Tenerife, Sinfónica de Galicia y OBC orchesters. Arnau Tomàs has compiled a substantial and extensive discography; specially remarkable are his recordings of the Bach Suites and the sonatas and variations by Beethoven. In addition to his concert activities, Arnau has been Guestprofessor at the Hochschule für Musik Köln and has given various masterclasses and courses both in Europe and the United States.

Guillem Gràcia
Guillem Gràcia

Guillem Gràcia (Barcelona, 2005) inicià els seus estudis de violoncel als sis anys i debutà com a solista als tretze, amb un concert del qual es van destacar unes “qualitat i musicalitat impecables”. Ha tocat a l’Auditorio Nacional, el Palau de la Música Catalana o el Gran Teatre del Liceu i, d’entre els seus guardons, destaquen el Premi Absolut en la MiN International Music Competition 2018 (Narvik, Noruega) i el primer premi Intercentros Melómano (2018). Des del 2019 estudia a l’Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía amb Jens Peter Maintz i Fernando Arias i forma part de diferents ensembles a càrrec de Márta Gulyás i Heime Müller. Ha rebut masterclasses de Lluís Claret, Pablo Ferrández i Asier Polo, entre altres mestres. Toca amb un violoncel François Caussin, Mirecourt (vers 1830-1840).

Pau Codina
Pau Codina

He has performed throughout Europe and in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Flagey, Bozar, Pau Casals Auditorium, Auditori de Barcelona, and Palau de la Música Catalana, both as a soloist and chamber musician. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest, the Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie, the RTVE Orchestra in Madrid, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the Andorra Chamber Orchestra. Pau has won several competitions and awards, such as the MBF’s Guilhermina Suggia Award, both the third prize and the Critique’s Award in the El Primer Palau Competition in Barcelona, and the first prize in the Concurso Permanente competition of Jeunesses Musicales of Spain. He is a member of the Esbjerg Ensemble, Oculi Ensemble and Trio Fortuny.

Erica Wise
Erica Wise

Cellist Erica Wise enjoys a versatile career, as a chamber and orchestral musician, soloist, and teacher. Actively engaged with the contemporary music of our time, she has given numerous world and Spanish premieres both as soloist and as a founding member of FUNKTION, a contemporary chamber ensemble based in Barcelona. She has served as principal cellist for conductors such as Michael Tilson Thomas and Seiji Ozawa and has toured with the New World Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and is an artistic advisor for Da Camera. She received her Bachelors of Music from the Peabody Conservatory and Masters from New England Conservatory. As a Harriet Haley Woolley scholar, she studied baroque cello in Paris. She is currently professor of cello and chamber music at Conservatori Superior Liceu in Barcelona.
